Web 2.0 Resources

Schooltube allows teachers and students to upload their videos, lessons, and projects and view them anywhere!  Beyond sharing with just a small group of students, users can view the products of others. This produces an engaged global community where teachers and students can exchange creative thoughts and ideas.

Capzles is a media sharing site permitting users to upload, edit, and share various types of content (ie: pictures, word documents, videos, etc.)  What makes Capzles unique is the timeline feature, which displays the posted content in a sequence of frames.  Users can even comment on each of these frames as they proceed through the timeline.

Jamendo is a music sharing site which allows users to upload and download their own music. Their current inventory contains a variety of music genres that can be simply searched and played.  Particularly interesting is the vast catalog of instrumental music, which may be difficult to find elsewhere on the web.

Amap is an online “argument map” which presents debates in a visually clear and creative way.  Users can create an argument (ie: “Cats or Dogs?”) and other users may digitally comment on the argument itself as well as other comments.  In the classroom, students will be engaged while learning how to properly support an argument in an effort to express one’s views.

Study Stack updates the classic concept of memorizing facts and vocabulary by allowing students to create digital flashcards. By giving students several options for reviewing the information, students will hopefully learn the information more efficiently. Further, students can share their “stacks” of flashcards and learn from each other’s work.
